How the estimates work
Each calculator takes the dimensions of your project and applies the standard estimating math for that material — volume for bulk materials like concrete and gravel, surface area divided by coverage for paint and flooring, or a count per square foot for pavers and block. A small waste allowance is built in where it matters, since real projects involve cuts, spillage and uneven ground.
Where the prices come from
Cost figures use typical 2026 United States average price ranges for each material. Prices move a lot with region, supplier, grade and delivery, so every calculator lets you enter your own local price for a precise number. Treat the default ranges as a starting point, not a quote.

- These are estimates to help you plan and budget. Always confirm final quantities with your supplier before ordering.
- Material requirements and structural details (slab thickness, footing depth, wall height) are governed by local building codes. Check yours.
